The systematic and informed study of the future possibilities provides ground for the solving of some of the most pressing problems in the world today, at the same time addressing those issues that have not even come to pass yet.

Ricardo has devoted himself in recent years to studying the philosophical implications of design from different perspectives. Initially trained as an engineer and later as a philosopher, his career has led him to question conventional design practices given the impact that this discipline has on the world. This interest arises because, throughout his professional career, he has been struck by the little acknowledgement that many design professionals have received despite the long-term implications of the decisions they make.
