Learning experiences as a UX mentor in Latin America: the truth of the matter as a UX/UI junior, and its usability

Eduardo Aguayo

At the beginning of 2021 I started mentoring in UX, later on participating as a coach in one the many bootcamps and courses in the region. I was shocked at how poorly they were set, even at the fallacies that can be found in how UXers are educated, while at the same time I realized how impossible to meet were the recruiting criteria for professionals in the creole industry. Through this talk I want to raise awareness of those wrong conceptions wielded by academia, new professionals and recruiters in our market, as I also want to provide direction and advise to new (and converse) professionals facing the challenges of the reginal market.
